I was an avid smoker for about 4 years. I never cared to quit and it was too hard anyway, plus, it just felt so great. However, every ad and everyone around you will say time and time again how important it is to quit, so it made me take an introspective look into how I really felt about it. I never truly wanted to quit, which made the act of quitting itself so much harder than it already was. Quitting isn't something you need to nail on the first try, that's a lot of pressure to put on yourself. I think it took me around 2 years between attempts to quit but with enough perserverence it isn't all that difficult. I think what really did it for me was the fact that I was just so sick of it that I quit solely out of spite.

Benefits

I haven't smoked at all in a few months now I think and I feel a lot better than I had ever thought I would. I feel like I can take much deeper and fuller breaths, they feel almost more satisfying. I can take on multiple sets of stairs like they're nothing and I just feel more bloodflow to my brain. Even when I have very intense cravings, they subside in 30 minutes at the most and I still go about my day feeling better than I have in years. Don't even get me STARTED on the money saving, I save so much money. Not spending $20 every week or two really helps and it means I can just use that money on a WoW subscriptions :>
If you needed any motivation to help yourself quit, I hope this was helpful at least. It's rough for a few days but only gets easier.
